Rainy Day Activities on the Central Coast: Indoor Options for Families and Visitors
The Central Coast has a reasonable set of indoor options for wet weather, particularly important in the region's summer wet season and winter storm periods. The Australian Reptile Park at Somersby is one of Australia's best indoor/outdoor wildlife options; while much of the park is outdoors, the snake shows, spider demonstrations and many exhibits are undercover. Gosford Regional Gallery on Mann Street has free entry and a regional art collection with rotating exhibitions. The Gosford City Library on Donnison Street is a comfortable community space with good facilities. Westfield Tuggerah and Erina Fair are the region's two largest shopping centres and serve as practical wet-day destinations for the northern and southern zones respectively. Indoor adventure parks and trampoline centres have opened across the region. The West Gosford area has a popular aquatic centre with an indoor heated pool. Checking current events listings via the Central Coast Council website is worthwhile for current gallery and community programs.
