Cycling on the Central Coast: Lake Trails, Coastal Paths and Mountain Bike Tracks
The Central Coast has a well-developed cycling network that makes the most of its lake and coastal geography. The Tuggerah Lakes Cycleway runs around the shores of Tuggerah, Budgewoi and Lake Munmorah, offering a flat, low-traffic route that is excellent for families and recreational riders. The coastal road between Gosford and Terrigal and the beach towns to the north carries cycling traffic on the road shoulder. Ourimbah State Forest and the Ourimbah Mountain Bike Park provide trail riding ranging from beginner-friendly flow trails to technical cross-country tracks. The Gosford to Woy Woy corridor has a commuter cycling path. The Central Coast Council publishes a cycling map. Hire bikes are available in Terrigal and at various locations near the lake cycle paths.
