Best Coffee on the Central Coast: Specialty Cafes, Terrigal and the Gosford Scene

The Central Coast of NSW has a well-developed specialty coffee scene driven by its large permanent resident population of Sydney commuters and lifestyle-changers who have brought metropolitan coffee expectations and, in many cases, cafe industry experience with them. Terrigal's The Esplanade foreshore strip has several quality cafe operations that serve the beach and resort community, with a morning coffee culture tied closely to the surf and beach lifestyle. Gosford CBD and its surrounds are the commercial hub of the Central Coast and have a range of cafe operators including specialty espresso bars. Erina, home to the region's largest shopping centre, has developed a significant hospitality precinct. The Long Jetty and The Entrance precinct on the lake foreshore have an active community cafe scene. Avoca Beach village has a charming strip of cafes and specialty shops. Woy Woy, on the southern tip of the Central Coast at the rail station, has a growing cafe culture that serves the commuter market. Several Sydney-trained baristas and specialty coffee operators have established Central Coast operations as the region continues to attract Sydney residents. The Central Coast's proximity to the Hunter Valley wine region means food and beverage standards across the region are continuing to lift.
