Arcadia, a Central Coast tech start-up headquartered on Church Street in Terrigal, will launch its AI-driven grocery delivery platform, Locavore Loop, across Gosford and Erina from July 15. The company lets customers order directly from independent grocers, promising two-hour delivery and boasting algorithmic route optimization to reduce emissions.

Putting Smart Groceries on the Map

The news comes as supermarket prices remain high and traditional delivery apps face scrutiny for service fees. Arcadia’s launch taps into a clear local pain point. According to data from the Central Coast Council’s June 2026 Cost of Living report, grocery costs across the region rose 6.2% in the past year, outpacing national averages. Locavore Loop’s focus on independent shops—such as The Green Basket in Wyong and The Veggie Depot in Erina—offers small businesses new digital visibility amid these challenging market dynamics.

Arcadia’s app connects users with a curated selection of local produce, dairy, and specialty goods. Unlike larger e-grocers, it claims to prioritise freshness by picking up orders directly from participating stores every morning. Co-founder Zoe Liang told The Daily Central Coast that the company’s pilots on Mann Street showed average delivery times of 81 minutes during June’s soft launch.

A standard Locavore Loop basket—roughly 14 items, from milk to onions—currently costs $74.30 before delivery fees. Arcadia says their pricing matches in-store tags, and delivery in the 2250 and 2260 postcodes is $4.90 flat, compared with $7.50 for major chains. Over 30 local shopfronts have signed on. The company is targeting 5,000 users by September and says it handled 1,200 trial deliveries in June alone, with an on-time rate of 93%.

Next Steps: How Locals Can Try Locavore Loop

Locavore Loop launches officially on July 15, with early adopters in Gosford and Erina eligible for a one-week free delivery window. Sign-up is via the app (iOS and Android) or kiosks at Gosford Train Station and Bay Village Shopping Centre. Arcadia says Woy Woy and The Entrance are next on its roadmap, pending partner grocer agreements. For Central Coast residents fed up with supermarket queues and hefty service charges, this homegrown approach could prove a timely alternative in 2026’s escalating cost-of-living cycle.
