Conferences Anchor Regional Competition
The Central Coast Athletic Association operates as a 16-school conference in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties and has been affiliated with the CIF Central Section since 2018. The CIF Central Coast Section covers San Mateo, Santa Clara, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties and fields 27 sports that include baseball, football and lacrosse. These two bodies provide the alignment and scheduling that keep teams active year-round and give athletes clear pathways to postseason play.
The 2026 CIF Central Coast Section baseball playoffs opened May 23, with championship games set to begin May 28. Separate recognition came earlier in the year when Ashton Allard of Archbishop Mitty High School earned USA Lacrosse Central Coast All-American honors in girls' lacrosse and Kyleigh Mace was named CCS Player of the Year in softball. Such honors highlight individual achievement while reinforcing the role of school programs in building community pride.
