Central Coast Sports College Season Preview Puts Finals in Focus

Central Coast Sports College announced a new principal on July 15, 2025, the same day its boys and girls soccer teams reached CIS Cup grand finals.
The timing places the college's programs at the center of local winter sport planning twelve months later, as athletes return to fields that now include upgraded facilities across the region.
Pathways Built Through Partnerships
The college created a full-time training environment for female footballers via its partnership with the Central Coast Mariners, giving players a direct route into the NPLW program. Seventeen-year-old Eliza Familton secured a scholarship to the Mariners Academy after her time at the college. The girls rugby league side captured its first NSW PCYC Schoolgirls Cup title in September 2025, beating Westfields Sports High 18-14.
Facilities and Numbers Behind the Preparation
Upgraded amenities at Buff Point and Halekulani Ovals opened for the 2025 winter season after the NSW Government provided $2.8 million to replace buildings that were 44 and 54 years old. An $11 million project is upgrading 16 sportsgrounds region-wide with new lighting, drainage and irrigation. Construction of a 370 square metre amenities building continues at Frost Reserve in Kincumber with completion listed for early 2026. Forty-seven FBS schools have changed conferences since 2021, and Division I ratified eligibility rule changes in July 2026 that remove redshirt and waiver options.
Coaches at the college are using the winter break to align training with these facility upgrades and the new eligibility landscape before the first rounds begin.
