Central Coast street art: what visitors should know and the must-see highlights

Central Coast Council launched its updated mural map on July 1, listing 62 commissioned works across six suburbs that visitors can reach by foot or short bus rides.

The map arrives as tourism numbers climbed 18 percent in the first half of 2026, with many travellers now adding a half-day street-art stop to their beach or winery plans.

Two neighbourhoods stand out for concentrated displays. Mann Street in Gosford holds a 120-metre stretch of works completed under the council’s 2024-2026 public art program, including a large-scale piece by artist duo The Linear Collective at the corner of Donnison Street. Further north, The Entrance boardwalk features eight panels finished in late 2025 that depict local marine life and were funded through a partnership with the Central Coast Business Chamber.

Key locations to visit

Start at the Gosford waterfront near the old ferry wharf, where a 2023 mural by local painter Mia Tran covers the side of the former Maritime Workers Hall. Walk south along the waterfront path to reach the Terrigal Lagoon entrance, site of a 15-metre work installed in April this year that shows seasonal changes in the coastal wetlands. Both sites sit within a 10-minute drive of each other and remain accessible after dark thanks to new LED lighting added in May.

Entry to any of the sites is free, though a paid guided walk leaves from the Gosford Regional Gallery every Saturday at 10 am for $25 per person.

Planning your tour

Visitors should download the council’s free mural app before arrival, as it lists current opening hours for nearby cafés and restrooms. The full loop from Gosford station to Terrigal and back takes roughly three hours on foot, or 45 minutes by the 66 bus route that runs every 20 minutes on weekdays. Those arriving after July 20 can join the council’s new twilight tours, which run on the last Friday of each month and include a stop at the new lighting installation at The Entrance.
